Counties hit by Superstorm Sandy want the federal government to reconsider its decision to deny individual assistance.
Governor Earl Ray Tomblin requested individual assistance for residents of Preston, Randolph, Tucker, and Webster Counties, as well as Fayette and Nicholas Counties.
FEMA denied the request.
Randolph County Commission President Mike Taylor said FEMA needs to take another look.
West Virginia has 30 days to appeal FEMA's decision.
Taylor said the county commission will draft a letter supporting Tomblin's request at its meeting Wednesday.
Upshur County conducted its assessment Monday.
