Pet Helpers In Need Of Foster Families

Posted: Updated:

Pet Helpers in Fairmont said it is in desperate need of foster families to provide temporary homes for the pets they rescue.

The non-profit organization is made up of volunteers searching for forever homes for rescued animals.

Volunteers said they are having to turn down animals because there aren't enough homes to put them in.

Pet Helpers said fostering pets is important because it gives the animals a chance to be adopted.

"There are so many unwanted animals right now that we need to try to get them into a home and get them socialized," said Terri Tichneor, Pet Helpers volunteer. "Get an idea of their temperament and get them into their forever home."

Pet Helpers has found homes for 1,300 pets in the past three years.
