A West Virginia University criminology class held an open presentation Wednesday evening at the Granville Fire Department Social Hall.
The class interviewed 20 police officers from different towns and cities with a focus on police culture and socialization.
Wednesday was a chance to present the results of its research to the police departments, the public, and the WVU staff.
WVU criminology student Abby Crim talked about her class's findings.
"And found with the interview transcripts that certain things they say apply to certain theories, and certain things with the academy aren't working anymore but nothing is really changing much," Crim said.
After the presentation, the class opened the floor to questions and discussion.
