Friends and family honored loved ones at Morgantown Hospice's Light Up a Life on Sunday.
The annual tree trimming and lighting ceremony helps raise money for the terminally ill of Monongalia County. Each guest can purchase an ornament in memory or honor of a loved one.
"There are traditions that change because someone used to make the turkey or no one knows how to make grandma's gravy anymore," said Heather Graham, Morgantown Hospice Care. "There's a lot of traditions that start a new and this is just a way to bring hope to those people and a reminder to those families that things will get better."
The trees will remain lit until they are taken down at the end of December.
