The Morgantown Police are investigating a stabbing incident that occurred around 3:15 a.m. Friday.
Morgantown police say WVU student Juan Guerra, 20, was stabbed multiple times on High Street. Guerra underwent surgery for his injuries and is currently listed in stable condition. The person suspected in the stabbing was described only as a white male wearing a black T-shirt.
Police say they initially responded to a disturbance in the area which moved from High Street to Walnut Street.
Guerra was taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital and is listed in fair condition.
On scene officers arrested Patrick Beam, 20, from Virginia. Police say Beam fled the scene as officers arrived.
Beam has been charged with fleeing, and brandishing a firearm. He is in North Central Regional Jail with bail set at $77,500.
Police say a connection between to two incidents is unknown at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
The Morgantown Police are investigating the stabbing of a 20-year-old male West Virginia University student that happened around 3 a.m. Friday on Walnut Street in downtown Morgantown.
He is being treated at Ruby Memorial Hospital, according to Morgantown Police.
Police at the scene also arrested a 20-year-old man from Virginia, who is charged with brandishing a hand gun and fleeing. That man's name has not been released.
