The Harrison County Board of Education will meet Wednesday to discuss a unique opportunity for the city of Bridgeport and Harrison County Schools.
Bridgeport is the only community in West Virginia that is able to invest in the school system.
It's offering the school board funding assistance for two major projects at Bridgeport High School.
"Allowing them to make investments into air conditioning for the gym and cafeteria. And new bleachers to expand the gym for seating. It's one of the smallest in the county," said Mike Queen, of the Board of Education.
The city is offering $175,000 for the project if the school board puts up a $25,000 match.
Queen said the board won't do that, because of budget constraints and that it hopes the city will fund the entire project.
