We've all heard barbershop quartets perform in four-part harmony. The Sweet Adelines do the same kind of singing, but with women. The Mountain Harmony Holiday Chorus is a branch of Sweet Adelines.
The Holiday Chorus meets every Monday to practice for its seasonal outings in December.
The group performs everywhere, from nursing homes to personal parties and festivals.
"We do it for guests. People who haven't joined our chorus that just want to maybe try it out or maybe just want to come and sing at Christmas time," said Michele Vidulich, president of the Mountain Harmony Sweet Adelines. "We invite people to come we teach them the Christmas songs that we do for the sing outs at nursing homes and things. And then if they like it they can stay and sing with us through out the year or they could just do it at Christmas time."
The Mountain Harmony Holiday Chorus never charges to sing but does accept donations. It will sing at several locations in December.
The first performance of the holiday season is Sunday, December 2 at the Morgantown Mall. The chorus will start singing around 1:45 p.m. for the Hospice Tree Lightings.
