Jeron Hawkins has been granted mercy after a jury sentenced him to life in prison.
Last Friday, jurors found Hawkins guilty of first degree murder in connection with a shooting outside of Karma night club in 2011. Hawkins was also found guilty of malicious assault.
The Monongalia County Prosecutor's Office said Hawkins could be eligible for parole in 15 years.
The prosecutor's office said Hawkins has yet to be sentenced for his two malicious assault charges, in which he would serve two to 10 years for each.
If those sentences run consecutively, Hawkins wouldn't be eligible for parole for 19 years, according to the prosecutor's office.
