HUNTINGTON (AP) — Marshall University's Dan Hollis has been recognized as West Virginia's professor of the year.
Hollis is an associate professor of journalism and mass communications. He was honored Thursday by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching.
Hollis accepted the award at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. He said that he loves teaching, and any time you get recognized for doing something you love, it's a bonus.
Each year, Marshall nominates its Marshall & Shirley Reynolds Outstanding Teacher Award winner for the Carnegie award. Hollis received the 2011 Reynolds award and is the fourth Marshall professor to win the Carnegie honor.
