Ground work has begun on a new equestrian center in Randolph County.
It will be located at Camp Pioneer in Beverly.
The Randolph County Commission said various equipment and manpower has been donated, and it's contributing $25,000 from the hotel-motel tax for the project.
A private donor has made a $250,000 contribution.
The commission said the equestrian center will be a unique venue for this area.
"When we get this thing up and running it will be the county as well as because people will come in will go to these shows and they will stay in the hotels here and eat here in the county, which will help the county economically as well also," said Chris See, of the Randolph County Commission.
The covered steel structure should be complete in the spring.
