The Marion County Board of Education will soon start evaluating which schools need improvements and repairs.
A proposed $10 million school renovation bond didn't pass on Election Day, but Superintendent Gary Price said the project isn't dead.
There are also several other projects the board is considering, including upgrading two Middle Schools.
"Mannington Middle School and Monongah Middle School are both older high schools that need either to be upgraded or replaced," Price said. "The voters are going to have that placed upon them sometimes in the future."
Price said the construction of East Fairmont Junior High is making good progress, and it should open in January 2014.
