ROTC students at West Virginia University are getting a jump start on celebrating Veterans Day.
Army ROTC students visited long-term care facilities in Monongalia County Thursday, thanking veterans.
Those students were participating in a Hospice Care Veterans Day event.
During the ceremony, Veterans received pins and certificates for their service.
"I'm just proud to be a veteran. I'm a life member of the 548 here in Morgantown," said Hugh Smyth, WWII Veteran. "And I'll be a vet the rest of my life."
West Virginia Is among the nation's leaders in veterans per capita. Hospice Care recognized about 50 veterans Thursday, in four nursing homes.
