Star City has plans to improve one of its busier roads with the help of the county commission.
The Monongalia County Commission has approved a $2 million TIF bond for the project.
The money will go toward a streetscape renovation of Boyers Avenue including the purchase of eight properties, new sidewalks, lighting, along with water and sewer maintenance.
"It needs to be much, much more beautiful than it is. It could be a beautiful entry way to Star City," said Star City Mayor Allen Sharp.
Star City is also working on a potential road-widening project.
Tax revenues are projected to pay back the bond in 15 years.
