The Monongalia County Office of Emergency Management is making sure the county is prepared.
Monday morning, the National Weather Service briefed local first responders on the storm and representatives from the Office of Emergency Management discussed disaster response plans.
Communication was a key topic.
First responders plan to use more cellular communication for non-emergency situations to keep radio waves clear.
Interim Director Mike Wolfe said it's important for everyone to be on the same page.
"Practice makes perfect and when we have everyone on the same page, everyone knows what's going on what resources are available what we've already done, it eases their anxiety level, and then their the promoters for us when their out in the community talking to people," Wolfe said.
The Office of Emergency Management said it will have regular updates on street closing and flooding on its website and its social media pages.
