With Hurricane Sandy approaching West Virginia, stores are recommending shoppers call before showing up to the store.
As of Saturday morning, both Morgantown Area Lowe's said they are sold out of generators.
Lowe's said store supplies have been bought out and shipments in have been rerouted towards areas expecting more damage like New York and New Jersey.
A store employee said this summer's derecho seems to have people being more proactive in storm preparations.
"We're out of a lot of things actually. I think the derecho this summer has a lot to do with this. People are really preparing for this," Mike Sample.
Lowe's said they do have other emergency supplies still available, but things like flashlights and batteries are going quick.
