It's never too soon to start Christmas shopping, especially when it benefits a good cause.
Star City Volunteer Fire Department held a "Toy Bash" Saturday.
Every five minutes a bingo machine helped raffle off a toy.
The fire department hopes to raise about $4,000 through the event, which organizers said is very family friendly.
"It's important to involve family and everything," said Captain Shawn Alt. "With the gun bashes, you usually have mostly males, some of the females like to come too, but it's not really much for kids. This is more for kids because the see the toys, it's more of a family-oriented event."
Among the toys were a TV and computer.
The fire department will hold another toy bash on Dec. 1 and a Vera Bradley Bingo on Nov. 11.
