Only recently opened, the Pink Moon Coffeehouse is making a name for itself in a place with its own history. The Coffeehouse is in the old Kane's lumber building on Main Street in Weston. Owner Jill Stewart said using such an iconic storefront in Weston, is just one way she wants to show her appreciation of her hometown.
"Well, I love my town, and I think that we have amazingly talented people here, and friendly people here, and it's just a great place to be," Stewart said.
And she hopes to make it greater. On weekends, Stewart hosts events from dart tournaments to line dancing, and even highlights the work of local artists throughout her store.
That only adds to the draw for many area residents, and her customers say the range of people she attracts only adds to the fun.
"This place is fun because it pulls in a very eclectic group. Last night we were here and there were people from every generation in Weston. When you walked in there were four or five, 10 tables of different people and it was just fun!" said Barbara Tucker, a regular customer of the Pink Moon.
And let's not forget the food; there's vegetarian options if meat isn't your thing, but there's plenty to sample no matter what your taste. And the desserts are in a class of their own.
Stewart said the many options she has helps bring in that wide crowd, and she's happy to see all of them come in.
"I just wanted a place where people could come and feel comfortable and that was family-friendly and that you could still enjoy yourself and see live music, have a cocktail, have a scone, and above all else great food and great coffee," Stewart said.
If you'd like to check out the Pink Moon for yourself, it's right on Main Street in downtown Weston.
