West Virginia University's Personal Rabid Transportation system celebrated a major accomplishment Wednesday.
WVU congratulated Ted Matthews, a senior, as its 80 millionth passenger.
Matthews said he rides the PRT nearly every day and was shocked to be awarded with a new Xbox 360.
WVU's Transportation and Parking said this is a huge accomplishment, one done without a single major accident.
"Everything we do takes a belt and suspenders approach," said Arlie Foreman of WVU Transportation and Parking. "We have to make sure safety is redundant in everything we do, because this system is so relied upon by the university to transport passengers from the many campuses, as well as citizens from downtown throughout the Morgantown area."
The PRT is 37 years old. It is schedule to undergo significant modifications and updates.
