City Manager Martin Howe said the second phase of the Chestnut Street project in Clarksburg will be put out to bid this fall with construction expected to start early next year.
Phase two includes building additional retaining walls, and installing water, storm, and sanitary lines.
The city will put phase three to bid when phase two is completed.
Phase three will include new curbs, sidewalks, guard rails and paving.
The $5 million project should be finished next fall.
Road improvements will soon begin on a road in Harrison County.
The Division of Highways said work on Chestnut Street in Clarksburg is expected to start sometime in October.
The first phase of the project will start on the retaining walls on South Chestnut.
The second will include widening and paving of the road.
The city of Clarksburg said waterlines and storm sewers will also be replaced.
