The Clarksburg Planning and Zoning Commission has cleared the way for a new business to come to town.
The commission approved a rezoning request that would allow developers to build a CVS Pharmacy on Marshall Avenue.
The commission also approved abandoning two alleys for the project.
City Manager Martin Howe said it's the beginning of a bigger trend.
"We are seeing a larger interest by developers who want to locate here, and it's for various reasons, but this is just another positive step forward," said City Manager Martin Howe.
Clarksburg City Council will now have to approve the commission's recommendation. Council members will hear the first reading at their next meeting.
