Some Lewis County residents were out to take a stand against breast cancer Monday afternoon.
Weston residents gathered at the Lewis County EMS building for a Breast Cancer Awareness Luncheon.
The annual event is held by the Lewis County Community Educational Outreach Service.
Organizers want people to know that the key to defeating breast cancer is catching it early.
"95 to 99 percent of the women, if they find their breast cancer early, can survive, so we need to make sure women are getting their mammograms, their breast exams, as recommended," said organizer Kathy Helmick.
Doctors from area hospitals also spoke to the group about fighting the disease.
