Police documents detailing the events of a September 3, 2012 triple homicide have been released by the Doddridge County Circuit Clerk.
Doddridge County Sheriff's Deputy C.W. Modesitt wrote in the police report, "On 9/3/2012 at approximately 1804 hours, I was dispatched to a call on Mastons Rd. The caller advised central communications that he had just shot his family members. Upon arrival, I apprehended the subject, Joseph Spencer and placed him in my cruiser. Upon clearing all structures on scene, I observed a female lying outside at the feet of the porch steps dead from apparent gunshots. Through the front downstairs door, I observed a female approximately 9 years of age lying dead from apparent gunshot wounds. Up the stairs to the residence, and in a back bedroom, I observed a third body. The third body was a male adult. Spencer advised that he loaded the 9 mm handgun belonging to his father and shot all three family members before calling 911."
A 16-year-old Doddridge County boy accused of killing his parents and sister will be charged as an adult, according to Doddridge County Circuit Court.
Doddridge County Prosecutor Brooke Fitzgerald requested Joseph Spencer be transferred to adult status. Spencer is facing three counts of first degree murder.
Frederick Spencer III, 49, Dixie Spencer, 47, and their youngest daughter, Patience "P.J." Spencer, 9, were fatally shot in their West Union home on September 3, according to officials.
