Searchers combed Upshur County Thursday in hopes of locating a Buckhannon man who's been missing since last Wednesday.
The searchers included friends and relatives of the missing man Luke Stout, 24, of Buckhannon.
Mountaineer Search and Recovery Group is conducting the search.
The group formed in the wake of the disappearance of three-year-old Aliayah Lunsford.
The searchers gathered at Buckhannon City Park Thursday morning, and concentrated on the area where Stout lives and was last seen.
Search organizers said having plenty of feet on the ground improves the chances of finding Stout.
"The more people we get out there searching, the more area we can cover faster the better chase we have of finding him and hopefully finding him well, anything can happen," said Brandi Nesbitt of Mountaineer Search and Recovery. "Luke was a walker, he walked a lot of places."
There's been rumors floating around the Buckhannon community.
Some of Stout's family think there could be a connection regarding the Joshua Oberg murder investigation and the arrest of three men. State Police has received many calls and they tell us its actively following up on all leads.
The public is encouraged to submit information to http://www.wvcrime.com or contact their local detachment of the WV State Police by phone.
The search will continue through the end of the week starting at Buckhannon City Park.
