It turns out the Friendly City of Fairmont has what you're looking for.
This week's restaurant road trip takes us to River City Grille on the Monongahela River.
"We initially began in 2005," said River City Grille owner Scott Sears. "Bought the building in 05, completely renovated it. Came up with the idea of River City Grille. Looking at different places as you travel, going to beaches and so forth. You say why cant we have something like that in our own area, year round?"
The idea of bringing a beach-like restaurant to Fairmont is exactly what restaurant owner, Scott Sears, did. River City Grille creates a fun atmosphere that attracts the old and the young.
"A lot of the time we are here to see a live band," said customer Justin Nixon. "There's always live bands. Marshall Lowry is here all the time and he is fantastic. It's always a good time. There is always more to do then just eat."
The River City Grille motto is the "Biggest Best Burger in Town".
"We hand patty our own burgers every single day, fresh ground beef," Sears said. "We have our own little mixture of about five or six ingredients that we throw in with that ground beef. We weigh our patty's out anywhere from 11 to 12 ounces before we throw them on the grill."
Specialty items at River City Grille include fresh crab dip, peel and eat shrimp, stuffed banana peppers, and 14 different flavors of wings including the trademarked ghost sauce.
"The wings are fantastic," Nixon said. "There is a lot of different flavors. So it's nice to try different variations of those from time to time. The ghost sauce, awesome."
After a long hard day at work it's nice to sit back, relax, and enjoy some great food.
