Summer Practice Period Check-In: East Fairmont Boys Basketball

Posted: Updated:

The East Fairmont Bees are hungry to finish much better than they did last season.

East Fairmont was ousted in sectional play as heated rival Fairmont Senior put it on the Bees, winning by 26 points and ending East-side's season.

But head coach Ty Asterino says he's liked his team's work ethic during the three-week practice period.

The Bees will take a big hit for the upcoming season. East Fairmont graduated all three of their leading scorers from a season ago. Seth Corwin, Joe Casalinova and Evan Gorman will all be absent from the roster in 2012.

But Coach Asterino is encouraged by his team's effort over the last few weeks and said this group of Bees talk everyday about contending for a state championship.

"I honestly think with us being a in a new classification and having new teams in the tournament, we can set the bar and try to achieve whatever we want to achieve. I think we have to have a dream. We talk abut it everyday and I think the dream is that we have to try to chase championships and do it together. Hopefully that's what we're going to do," East Fairmont head coach Ty Asterino said.
