Preston County seniors now have a new place to live in Terra Alta.
The Park Side Apartments are now open and renting thanks to a partnership of the North Central West Virginia and Garret County Community Action Committees.
Money for the more than $3 million project came from US Housing and Urban Development and the West Virginia Housing Development Fund.
"It's been a joint effort, pulling a lot of people and the residents here fabulous. And we consider Terra Alta to be our neighbors," said Cindy Sharon of Garrett County Community Action. "Although we're in different states, we very much visit one another, work in each others counties. We just consider them our neighbor."
The 20 unit complex will have HUD income guidelines and at least one apartment resident must be over the age of 62.
