Big things were expected out of the Morgantown boys basketball team last season.
The Mohigans had a collection of some of the best talent in the state. Yet, still came up short in the regional final.
So this summer they're working even harder to make sure they reserve a spot in the state tournament.
The Mohigans bring back a majority of their players from last year's squad, including WVU bound Nathan Adrien.
Morgantown fell to Fairmont Senior for a chance to play in Charleston last season.
Head coach Tom Yester said he still feels the sting from that loss and said his players are using it as fuel to work even harder this summer.
"It obviously didn't end how we wanted it to," Morgantown center Nathan Adrien said. "We should've beaten Fairmont Senior but stuff happens and we'll use it this year as motivation to play our best and not lose."
"Oh yeah for sure, guys are showing up way before practice starts," Mohigans guard Dean Marshall pointed out. "Maybe sometimes two hours. Making sure it's all ready to go and get what we need done."
