An eclectic coffee shop in Buckhannon serves up an excellent cup of coffee, and a lot more.
The Daily Grind is unique to Buckhannon, it's a place that offers specialty coffees and sandwiches prepared your way.
Owner Andrew Williams has managed the Daily Grind for almost a year. But, its been four years that the business has been on Buckhannon's main street. The Daily Grind offers a wide variety of breakfast, lunch and light dinner items. If you enjoy coffee drinks you can chose from a variety of them.
Williams said staff try to put their own spin on creating a cozy, cheerful, atmosphere for customers to relax and enjoy themselves. With The Daily Grind in the middle of Buckhannon. Williams said a mix of business people and college students find the location convenient.
"The patio in the summertime you can sit out and enjoy that, we just want to make you feel comfortable. We don't want you to feel like you have to come in and you have to leave, come sit down and relax for a while," said Williams.
One of the specialty sandwiches the staff said is popular is the Grind Ribeye Steak sandwich, made with shaved ribeye, oven roasted tomatoes, fresh spinach, sauteed onions, provolone cheese with the shop's homemade horseradish mayo on regular or multi grain ciabatta bread.
Customers find time before starting a busy work day to come in and enjoy themselves.
"I like the different taste of the food, it's more fresh it's very unique it's something you don't get all the time," said Marty Ratliff.
Williams wants everyone to enjoy the food because that's why their there.
"Come in and enjoy the food, get to know some of the staff a lot of the regulars that come in that have good relationships with the staff, they build friendships there. They know their order when they see them walking through the door it makes you feel appreciated, makes you feel welcome," Williams said.
The Daily Grind is open Monday-Thursday 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Fridays 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturdays 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
