Morgantown's own "Iron Chef" competition was underway Sunday.
For the first time, the Ronald McDonald House Charity in Morgantown held a Chef Challenge featuring two prominent Morgantown cooks, Chef Brian Brunner of the Waterfront Place Hotel, and Chef Chris McDonald from Stefano's.
Despite a cost of admission, executive director of the house, Steve De Jesus says the real goal of the event was not to raise money, but to get the community more involved with the house, and of course, have lots of fun.
"It's a neat experience," says De Jesus. "I don't think we've had anything like this in Morgantown before, and the chefs seem to be enjoying themselves, the crowd seems to be really having a good time. It's kind of a neat event; we hope to grow it over the years."
The chefs were judged by a panel of celebrity judge that included WVU alum, and Super Bowl winning quarterback Jeff Hostetler.
The inaugural event winner was Chef Chris McDonald from Stefano's Restaurant.
